A6 Etching-Style Printing Press – 3D Print Files (Free Download)

This is a compact A6-format etching-style printing press designed to be fully 3D printed and assembled using simple, commonly available hardware.

I originally designed this press to produce small printed cards without needing larger formats or investing in a commercial press. The result is a small, workshop-built press sized specifically for A6 work.

Although the design follows the general layout of an etching press, it has not been tested for traditional etching processes. No guarantee is given that it will generate or withstand the pressures typically required for etching plates.

After sharing an early version online, the project received significant interest, with many people asking for the files to print their own. This download makes those files available.

Important notes:

This is an ambitious print project. It requires substantial print time and several kilograms of filament. Basic 3D printing knowledge and general workshop competence are assumed.

The files are provided as-is, with no support, troubleshooting, or guarantees implied. A basic bill of materials (BOM) is included, but builders are encouraged to experiment with hardware substitutions as needed.

The design is a work in progress. Files may be updated in the future if time allows, but updates are not guaranteed.
