BIG BALL - SINGLE Handmade Wooden Ball Camera Handle (60mm Padauk, ARRI Rosette)
Premium handcrafted wooden ball camera handle, made in New Zealand. Designed by a cinematographer for cinematographers and camera operators who want a comfortable, intuitive wooden ball camera grip that works from any angle.
NOTE: 60mm sizing is nominal. These are handmade so size can vary +/-2mm.
Due to popular demand, BIG BALLS are now available individually. (click here for matched pairs of handles)
This listing is for a single handmade wooden ball camera handle, ideal for operators running asymmetric rigs, lightweight builds, or replacing one side of an existing setup.
Designed and built by me (Hendrikus De Vaan), a working cinematographer who wanted a better solution than the over-engineered, uncomfortable handles on the market.
Each handle is made from solid Padauk hardwood, hand-finished with a traditional oil and homemade paste wax finish for a satin feel that improves with age. The 60 mm diameter wooden sphere fits naturally in your palm, allowing comfortable control from any angle with no need to constantly adjust rosette positions.
Every handle is individually made and assembled by me personally, using A2 stainless-steel hardware, copper washers, and a stainless steel ARRI-standard rosette mount with an M6 bolt for universal compatibility and decades of use if cared for.
No CNC. No mass production. Just one filmmaker making tools for others.

Why a Wooden Ball Camera Handle?
Traditional rosette handles lock your wrist into fixed angles and require constant readjustment when moving between shoulder-mounted, underslung, or low-mode setups.
A wooden ball camera handle can be grabbed from any angle, letting your grip dictate the position. The spherical form encourages relaxed hand placement and discourages death-gripping, especially during long handheld takes.
When shoulder mounted, the ball rests comfortably in the palm, acting as a natural extension of your arm rather than a lever fighting your wrist. It also happens to look very good on a camera.
Limited Production
Each handle is made in small batches by me personally and individually inspected.
