By adding to cart you agree to have read and understood the product description.
Direct-fit lens gears for ARRI cforce mini and CLM-5 motors, available in the most commonly encountered cine lens gear pitches, including M0.8, M0.6, M0.5 and M0.4 / 64 pitch.
Each gear mounts directly to the motor using the standard tapped M5 mounting hole. Install using the original ARRI mounting screw, or use cineAKS replacement screws.

Choose the right lens gear pitch
cineAKS covers four common lens gear pitches used across professional cinema, broadcast and specialty lenses.
M0.8 / 32 pitch
M0.8 is the standard cine lens gear pitch, commonly found on ARRI, Cooke, Hawk, Angenieux and many other professional cinema lenses.
If you're looking for a general-purpose cine lens gear for an ARRI cforce motor, M0.8 is the usual starting point.
M0.6
M0.6 gears are used on a range of Panavision zoom lenses and Fujinon lenses, including Fujinon focus and zoom mechanisms.
M0.5
M0.5 is commonly encountered on Canon ENG lenses, including Canon broadcast and ENG-style focus and zoom mechanisms.
M0.4 / 64 pitch
M0.4, also known as 64 pitch, is found on older Panavision lenses, particularly iris mechanisms.
The larger tooth counts available in M0.4 make these gears useful where additional gear diameter is required for clearance or mechanical engagement.
Gear pitch can vary between individual lens models and generations. Check the lens manufacturer's specifications or measure the existing lens gear before ordering.
Extra-wide M0.8 gear
The 25mm-wide M0.8 40T gear provides substantially more axial gear width than the standard M0.8 gear.
It is intended for applications where a wider engagement surface is useful, particularly with lenses that have a wide or unusually positioned or telescoping focus or zoom gears.
The extra width can also provide more flexibility when positioning an ARRI cforce motor relative to the lens.
A multiplier system designed to save time
cineAKS gears follow the same multiplier principle used throughout the cineAKS gear range.
Rather than treating every gear as a completely separate calibration, the tooth counts are selected so that equivalent multipliers can be swapped between different pitches.
For example:
M0.8 60T = M0.4 120T
Both represent the same effective multiplier. Changing from an M0.8 lens to an M0.4 lens can therefore retain the same motor mapping in the appropriate application.
The result is less recalibration when changing between lenses with different gear pitches - particularly useful when working with mixed lens packages on set.
The 2x multiplier gears, such as the M0.8 80T, are the exception. These will generally need to be mapped manually.
Standard, offset or extra-wide?
The standard gears provide the most compact mounting arrangement.
The 8mm offset gears move the gear teeth away from the motor, providing additional clearance where the motor position, lens barrel, support hardware or other accessories require it.
The 25mm-wide M0.8 40T provides additional axial engagement without changing the gear pitch or tooth count. It is useful where the standard gear width does not provide sufficient overlap with the lens gear.
We also have extra offset gears for tricky gimbal builds, available here.
Consider the motor load
Larger outside-diameter gears provide greater mechanical leverage, which can increase the torque demand placed on the motor.
For that reason, the larger gears are generally most appropriate for iris control, or for particularly smooth, well-lubricated lens mechanisms.
For focus and zoom, consider the smallest suitable gear where practical.
You know your lenses. Choose accordingly.
